First solar power plant in Region-7 receives safety seal certificate from DOLE

Cebu City, Philippines. A solar power plant based in Negros Oriental yesterday received a safety seal certificate from the Department of Labor and Employment.

The Monte Solar Energy, Inc. located in Barangay Tamisu, Bais City is the first company in the Utilities (Electric) Industry in the Region to have been issued with the certificate.

In her report to DOLE-7 Regional Director Salome O. Siaton, Negros Oriental Field Office (NOFO) Chief, Marites G. Mercado said that DOLE inspectors – Engineers Randolph Culanculan and Rodolfo Sildora, Jr. led the awarding ceremony of the Safety Seal Certificate to Monte Solar Energy, Inc., a joint venture between Ayala Group’s AC Energy Holdings, Inc. and Bronzeoak Philippines. 

Monte Solar Energy, Inc. is also the first company outside Cebu to receive a Safety Seal Certificate from the Department.

“That Safety Seal issued to them affirms that they have been found compliant with the minimum public health standards. Not only that, they have also institutionalized a Contact Tracing Application in the workplace. To the management of Monte Solar Energy, Inc., congratulations and we look forward to your continued compliance,” said Director Siaton.

To date, DOLE has already issued Safety Seal Certificates to the following, namely: Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) Project by Cebu Link Joint Venture; Feeder Apparel Corporation; Feeder Apparel Corporation- FIT (Printing); On Semiconductor Cebu Philippines, Inc.; Mactan Apparels Incorporated; Metro Wear Incorporated; TMX Philippines Incorporated; Delfingen PH-Filipinas Incorporated; Lear Philippines Engineering Branch; Matluster Corporation; Duck-Il Korea Incorporated; Global Wear Manufacturing Incorporated; Teradyne Philippines Ltd.; Vertex One Apparel Philippines Incorporated; The Alcoves; Avida Towers Riala Tower 4; and Solinea Tower 4.

Director Siaton again urged all companies to apply for the issuance of Safety Seal Certificate, saying that having such would not only ensure customer confidence but would also tell their workers and their stakeholders that it is indeed safe to work for and transact with them.

All covered establishments shall submit their application through any of the following: (1) Online through or (2) In person and the application shall be assisted by Regional Office to use the DOLE Establishment Report System (ERS).
